What is Spray Foam?

About Us

Spray foam is a mixed two part insulation made up of polyurethane and isocyanate. Two parts are mixed together and sprayed on the receptive surface creating the foam. It expands as the two chemicals react and creates an insulation barrier. The Spray Foam fills in the crevices and the empty spaces between wall studs keeping the interior protected from the exterior environment.

Open Cell Foam

With this type, the tiny cells do not close creating a kind of spongy foam which uses less material and therefore can be less expensive. The open cell foam makes an air barrier, but not a great vapor or water barrier and is mostly used in  indoor applications.

Closed Cell

The closed cell application is a little more expensive because it’s very dense and compact in its cell structure. Closed cell Spray Foam makes an excellent wind and water vapor barrier, making it ideal for either roofing or other outdoor projects.
